Feature Photo Edit

I decided to edit one of Jessica's feature photos.  Not only did I love this shoot, but all of the pictures were fantastic!  I'm a huge fan of black and white photography, so on my edit of the picture I made it black and white and cropped it to focus on the construction vehicle.  I think it turned out pretty good!

Hard News Shoot

Last week I witnessed the aftermath of a car accident outside of the student housing complex "The Stay".  There were police cars (2 or 3) and an ambulance.  I didn't have my camera on me at the time and I was on my way out so I didn't get any good shots of the action.  After the fact, I walked over and got some shots of the place and the car, so I hope that its adequate for the shoot.  Listening to police scanners and such is all well and good, but if you can't get to where the action is there's not much point in my eyes.  So, anyway, here are my shots!

Feature News Shoot

This was definitely one of my favorite things to shoot this semester!  I took these photos as if I were on assignment to photograph the preview night of the comedy musical "Nunsense Boulevard".  I wasn't allowed to take any pictures during the performance, but I did take pictures of the set at different angles and then a couple pictures of the cast at the end.

Illustrative Shoot

My goal with this shoot was to illustrate that when it comes to people and their partner preference, no one sees the person, all they see is their sexuality.  Sometimes its as if I have the word bi-sexual stamped onto my forehead.  I wanted to introduce depth of field into these shots so that the signs would be clear but the people behind them would be blurred, but I think that the signs were too close to the people holding them to get a really clear depth of field.  Regardless, I really like how these look and it does illustrate my point.

Shots from Class 2/20/17

I really like how this picture turned out with half of his face in the light and half shadowed.

Close up - still with the half-shadowed face.  Better detail this time even though the lighting feels somewhat off.

I really love how this one turned out (minus the crappy iPhone quality).  The way the backdrop of the sunlight makes her hair almost glow and how we managed to bring light to highlight her features was really nice.

I like how we put the light to highlight the bottom half of her face, I think it really works here.

This pic turned out really well!

This one isn't bad either.

I know his face is dark, but I really like the contrast between the shadows on his face and the brightness behind him.  Maybe it's just me.

I took other pictures of the two models that we had yesterday but this picture turned out the best.
